wowwwww niiiiiiiice XD (this is coming from a person who got a 79% on her high/secondary school physics test)

Oh, btw, I kind of have a question. There's this rumor in the US that grades in British university can go beyond F, and can go as low as J or K. Is this true? o_O If it isn't, then yeah, we do get weird rumors in the US XD.

Thank you very much! ^^ *hugs* Don't think that what you've achieved is anything less either! 79% is a really good grade! People tend to forget how difficult physics is. :3

Indeed, indeed. XDD We do go beyond F in grading, but not by much. 8D We go from A*-G. Technically speaking all these grades are a pass, but unofficially, everyone, including students, regards the border between C and D as the "pass line". So all students would be aiming for a grade between A* and C, especially since in order to continue onto further education (i.e. the A-Levels past compulsorary education but not yet having reached the level of university), you generally need at least 5 GCSEs between A*-C (those are exams we take at the end of our time in compulsorary education, generally when we are about 15/16 years old).

J and K don't exist in grading, but U does. So we have A*-G, and then a jump to U, which stands for "Unclassified", which is the official "fail". And as the word "unclassified" suggests, this means that the marks you have achieved within the paper, if any, are so low that the examiner has not bothered to continue marking or record the marks. As you can imagine, this is a huge blow to the ego. ^^;
The A* grade is one step up from the A grade. I suppose it's your US equivalent of A+? But no other grades have a *, only A has that priviledge. :D

That's only for the GCSEs though. For the A-Level exams, the grades only go from A-E, and then U. And there's no A*.
